Ann-Marie Barker has called the Grand Prairie/Arlington area home, where she grew up since birth in nursing homes at the side of her Director of Nursing mother. It was evident at a very young age that advocating for seniors was a gift, from helping her parents get the elderly to church every Sunday to passing out ice chips and bingo prizes at the nursing home. She has a genuine love for the elderly.
Later, Ann-Marie’s husband received a dementia diagnosis in his early 50’s that changed their whole world. She still vividly recalls the pain and frustration of seeking care options for someone so young, only to hit endless dead ends. Since his passing, she has turned the gift into a calling, devoting her life to serving others in similar circumstances, helping loved ones navigate the complex elder healthcare world in times of crisis.
Ann-Marie has worked most of her life in Skilled Nursing, Hospice, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living. Her connections and deep knowledge allow her to easily hand-pick the perfect match of family to community, all at a concierge-level of service and support.
A life-long learner, Ann-Marie holds a bachelor’s degree from UT Arlington with a triple major of International Business, Art, and French. Her Shih-Tzu pup, Sophie, loves seniors just as much and they often make pet therapy visits. In her free time, Ann-Marie enjoys gardening, cooking, and art.
